TWIG’s aim is to put the pop song in focus rather than a specific sound. They have often been referred to as a combination of Orange Juice and The Wake, but also as a group with a timeless quality. Singer Henrik Linden is a librarian, and as a songwriter he gets lots of ideas while working. He often works in solitude, cataloging books of different genres, which could explain the many references to various people and books in the songs. Mathias Nilsson, the group's guitarist/multi-instrumentalist who lives and breathes music, gently arranges these songs and the end result becomes TWIG music. Joakim Bengtsson is the bass player who often entertains the audience with a dance onstage.
TWIG are based in Stockholm, and they have previously released two singles on Cloudberry Records: Life in a Swedish Town (3” cd, 2007) Wentworth/Ciao Ciao Bomb (7” vinyl, 2008). Life After Ridge, to be released on Plastilina Records 2008, is the group’s debut album.
